Alpharetta Hosts Another Highly Successful Mayor's Corporate Challenge

The Rotary Club of Alpharetta had a great Mayor's Corporate Challenge 5K. The afternoon was hot but not as hot as it could have been as a gentle Georgia breeze helped cool everyone down. Challenge Co-Chair Fran Schafer shared this information with the club:

  • Dollars Raised – Nearly $140,000 – the most gross dollars the club has raised when all the dollars are counted. This includes over $118,000 in sponsorships and the club anticipates at least another $20,000 from active.com and sponsors who purchased registrations from us in excess of their allotment
  • Runners Supported – 2,500 race registrations and 1,550 runners at the start line, making this the largestMayor's Corporate Challenge race yet. Not to mention 200 very happy “fun run kids”
  • Commitment to Excellence – Everyone was on their A game and throughout the entire sponsorship sales, concierge support and tent planning.
  • Teamwork demonstrated – Off the charts!! Co-Chair Fran said, "You guys managed to not miss a beat as we managed through several challenges – changes to registration deadlines, bag stuffing delays, bib printing and registration pick-up delays earlier this week. And I felt all of you had my back because I felt like I was winging it the entire time."
