From Our District Chaplain
Finding Opportunities to Make a Difference

Last month, I talked about thinking about ROTARY acrostically - beginning with: Relationships.

To continue, not only are we Relational, we are all each and everyone Opportunity oriented. ROtary certainly is and always should be people (Relational) and place (Opportunity) focused.

As we build relationships in our Clubs, Communities, District, and YES, around the world, we should seek to prioritize Opportunities that are real, relevant, and reliable. It might seem cliche-ish, but our people-place-based approach to offering hope and help must be always be relational, and logical, and, at times, yes, radical.

What can be done that hasn't been done before? What opportunities are being overlooked? Who can your Club partner with to promote our Rotary International ideals and put your Club and our District at the forefront of creative and innovative, exceptional service?

This the year to think outside the box; find Opportunities/Solutions/Service Projects that will connect us building goodwill and better friendships.

Mark, great stuff. I use the acrostic method when doing a presentation on Rotary. I use `Respect, Optimism,Teamwork, Achievement,Reputation and Youth. I go into a little on Rotary for each letter and then i add some humorous stuff based on my friends from Eridu, Fla that fit in with the Respect, Optimistic etc. I would like to substiute your Opportunity where i have Optimism if ok with you.
