If you could be anything, go anywhere, or meet anyone, what would you wish for? The Make-A-Wish Foundation has been asking seriously ill children that question for 35 years. Make-A-Wish is a growing organization that spent more than 200 million donated dollars on wishes last year. It's headquartered in Phoenix, has more than 60 local chapters across the country, and almost 40 more around the world.

The Peachtree City Rotary Club had the unique opportunity to help raise funds to sponsor a wish through Make-A-Wish Georgia this year. On Thursday, October 31, we were so blessed to be able to grant Kyle's wish to travel to Australia with his mom, dad and three sisters.

Lina (Kyle’s mom) stated, “Our family is humbled and grateful to the Rotary Club of Peachtree City for choosing to sponsor Kyle's Make A Wish. If someone would have told me 11 years ago that I would live in a town where people drove golf carts around and showed kindness by waving at each other, I would have questioned that thought with a smile. The fact that the people of Peachtree City have used a golf cart to raise the funds to show extreme kindness to my son by funding his wish also makes me smile. Australia bound thanks to these wonderful people who care passionately about making a difference in their community! They have impacted Kyle's life greatly!

Many thanks to Amy Benton (New Generations Director) for leading this project and the Club's Rotarians and partners who played such a key role in fundraising: Steve Ivory (Eaton), Mandy Timmons (Cooper Lighting Solutions), JD Holmes (Club 54), Ric Thompson (Crossfit PTC), Ant Murphy (Georgia Shrimp and Big Shots), Mike Nelson (Mediaworks 67) and Frank and Patti Kadkhodaian (Golf Rider). Thanks to everyone in the local community that also participated by purchasing the chance to win a golf cart and help grant this wish!
