Every month Rotary focuses on a different topic. For November that topic is Our Foundation - The Rotary Foundation. Since Thanksgiving is in November it seems fitting that November should be Foundation month.

It is time for us to give thanks for all our blessings – health, family, finances, etc. For many of us things are going really well, while others may be dealing with challenges or issues. But being Americans, most of us are very blessed. Sure we have our issues but there is nowhere else I would rather live. When most Americans get up in the morning, we have a clean toilet inside that we can use. We can get a glass of clean water without having to walk miles to get it. We have food for breakfast and we have food for our family. We have clothes to keep us warm and a roof over our heads. If we are sick, we have doctors and nurses close by to help us.

How many times have you seen someone going through a really tough time or health issues and it makes you pause and be thankful for all the things we take for granted?

Because we are so blessed, we have a responsibility to help others in whatever way that we can. Our Rotary Foundation can help us do just that. As a result of our donations to TRF's Annual Fund, the money comes back for us to use to do good deeds throughout our communities, our state, our country and our world. This is the money that is used to do District Grants, Global Grants, Global Grant Scholars, etc. You can read about many of those initiatives in this month's newsletter - and you can keep the good work coming through your generosity.

Our communities and the world need your help and your donations to Our Rotary Foundation. There are many options for making a donation. The simplest is writing a check and sending it to The Rotary Foundation. You can also make contributions online at Rotary Direct using your credit card - for a one-time gift or as an ongoing periodic contribution. You can donate stock or put The Rotary Foundation in your will.

The World needs our help but we can’t do it without your financial support. So at this time of Thanksgiving, take a look at what you can be thankful for and what you can share with others. Please look at your financial situation and give what you can. You will be saving or improving a life and making the world a better place. If you would like to discuss giving to Our Foundation, please contact me at cgrotarydg1213@aol.com.

Thank you for all that you do and will do. And Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families!
