Americus Recognizes Top Public Servants

It was a privilege for the Rotary Club of Americus to recognize four incredible servant leaders and award them the Rotary International "Service Above Self" National Medal of Honor. The club held a luncheon at Georgia Southwestern State University in the Private Dining Room of the Thomas O. Marshall Student Center on May 18 to honor the four recipients.

Congratulations to Sgt. Chad Ciani of the Sumter County Sheriff's Office (Deputy of the Year), Sgt. John Brown of the Americus Police Department (Police Officer of the Year), Engineer Billy Jones of the Americus Fire Department (Firefighter of the Year), and Battalion Chief/Fire Marshal Richard "Rick" Bell of the Sumter County Fire Department (Firefighter of the Year). The Rotary Club of Americus was honored to award these men who have collectively served 52 years and who believe that Service Above Self matters.
