Brookhaven Launches Be the Voice and Suther's Second Saturday

To celebrate the opening of the Brookhaven City Centre, the Brookhaven Rotary Club is hyper-focused on supporting those within our city limits and getting to know our city better. In October, the club kicked off two new service projects.
- We helped kick off the Be the Voice program at Woodward Elementary School. With assistance from a District Grant, our Rotary Club is sponsoring the Be the Voice program this year. Woodward Elementary’s Paw Patrol is helping lead the program, guiding students through activities and challenges that promote kindness, empathy, and inclusion.
- We're also supporting Suther’s Second Saturday. On the second Saturday of the month, we have a booth at the Brookhaven Farmer’s Market to collect food donations for the Suther’s Center Food Pantry and to increase the profile of Rotary within the community. When our club learned that the food pantry recently ran out of food, we wanted to help raise awareness and donations thus Suther’s Second Saturday was created.
In addition, we continued exploring the parks of Brookhaven, this time walking the trail around Blackburn Park where we had an opportunity to learn more about the local community garden as well as identify a potential future location of a Rotary Peace Pole.
