This weekend, several Dunwoody Rotarians will continue a 10-year tradition of getting up at "O Dark 30" on Saturday to support the Dunwoody Arts Festival. We serve as Ambassadors to the participating artists - helping them get situated on Saturday morning and coordinating breakdown and clean-up on Sunday afternoon. And, we serve as Ambassadors to the community - telling the story of the Rotary Club of Dunwoody to the people attending the Arts Festival as they pass by or stop and visit our booth. The pictures above come from our 2012 Arts Festival appearance - and include Rotarians Patti Bunker, Laura Kann, Fred Brandt and Don Griffing.
If you still want to help us promote our public image this weekend, contact Ardy Bastien or Kathy Brandt. Or just think about stopping by our booth as you stroll along Dunwoody Village Parkway looking for the right Mother's Day gift!
You're invited to join District Governor Court Dowis and other District Rotarians for a night of baseball, Star Wars, fireworks and fellowship at the Atlanta Braves game on Friday, May 17. The Braves are playing the Milwaukee Brewers and the game starts at 7:20 pm.
Sign up at the District 6900 website. Cost to members, family and guests will be only $20 per person, including a hot dog and soft drink. All seats are in our Rotary Block; seating is first come first serve or swap to sit with your club.
There will be a Rotarian just outside the “Chop House” gate at the stadium with your pre-purchased tickets from 6 pm to 7 pm. After that time your tickets will be at the Braves “will call” window.
Game Highlights:
DG Court hopes to see you there!
Jasmine Zhou was our GRSP student in 2009-10. Jasmine is from China and was hosted by Rotarian Jim Cantrell and his wife Kay Stewart. She is pictured with her husband Simon Ming, Jim and Kay at a reception when the couple came to visit in 2011.
Past RCD members Don and Marj Griffing will be visiting with Jasmine during a planned trip to China in early June. Don has offered to collect video greetings from individuals and present them to her on a USB drive when they meet. If you would like to participate please let Rick Otness know. Either email Rick at otness_r@mindspring.com , or call Rick at 770-715-9251 to alert him to your interest. He will email instructions on how to create and then get the individual videos to Don Griffing.
Plan to join us for a social event on Thursday evening, June 27 at the Dunwoody Country Club, where we will
It's a great opportunity for fun, food and fellowship - and we hope that you and your guest will join us. Watch for more details in the coming weeks.
