This has been a wonderful Foundation year so far, and there is still plenty to go! As of today, we have 34 active Global Grants, 4 awaiting approval and 11 more in Draft stage being developed. Experiences, Skills, Relationships and New Mindset - My GRSP Year 20 Years Ago

In 2019, it will be 20 years from the beginning of my GRSP year. It is not easy for me to summarize a year into short enough and easy to read text. Especially to make some order in a mountain of events, stories and connections. So I drew a picture. In short, there is no doubt that GRSP year has changed my life and it laid the base for my journey over the last 20 years. I believe that each GRSP student’s year is special and so was mine, but our years are not unique. There are so many similarities. Alpharetta Rotary Invites Rotarians to Join Tanzania Service and Safari Trip

The Rotary Club of Alpharetta will spend three to four days in late September partnering with Rotary Tanzania with their public school and orphanage projects. The Rotary Club of Arusha-Mount Meru (District 9211) is in process of applying for a Rotary Foundation grant for a school clean water project, and Alpharetta Rotary is exploring ways it could become a partner in that effort as well. Roswell Rotary Continues to Serve Our Vets

The Roswell Rotary Club is well known for its Honor Air Flights. For ten years the club chartered a plane and took World War II, Korean, and Vietnam veterans to Washington DC for a day to visit the monuments honoring them. For eight years, Roswell Rotarians packed an average of 900 pounds of supplies and shipped them to a deployed troop. This year, Roswell Rotary launched a new project to support vets. Roswell Rotarian Dave Wash eagerly took on the role of chairing the club’s new veterans project…serving the VEO (Veterans Empowerment Organization). [more]

Rotary Changes Lives of Mobility-Impaired Ugandans

The Rotary Club of Marietta, led by President Jesse Evans, and Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC), led by Executive Director and Stone Mountain Rotarian Chris Brand, recently teamed to provide mobility equipment for physically disabled Ugandans via Dave Talbot’s Crutches 4 Africa—a humanitarian relief organization that has helped residents of 16 countries in Africa and 10 other countries worldwide. Dave is a member of the Mountain Foothills RC in Golden CO, and has been shipping mobility devices since 2006. [more]
