Celebrating the Gifts of Rotary

As the holiday season is in full swing, it is a great time to take a break from the race to celebrate our families, friends and all the good that we able to do as Rotarians.

Just consider the BIG thinking of the Rotary Club of Emory Druid Hills in establishing partnerships to fund grants that are providing a C-Arm to one hospital and a complete nephrology unit to another hospital in India. Or the Rotary Club of Atlanta partnering with CARE USA in a project that’s just getting underway to build sustainable livelihood for Syrian refugees living in camps in Jordan. This project could provide with a model for addressing refugee issues around the world.

SOUNS Makes a Difference in Georgia, Puerto Rico and Around the Globe

In early November, the Rotary Club of Peachtree City travelled to Puerto Rico to work on its ongoing literacy project, SOUNS. The project combines the talent and resources of clubs in Districts 6900 and 7000. Developed by Rotarian Brenda Erickson, SOUNS is a letter-sound program with touchable letters that has had tremendous results in helping children learn to read at an early age. Helping Shape Rotary's Future

At the last Council on Legislation they split Resolutions and Enactments. Now Resolutions are handled yearly online as the COR (Council on Resolutions). Volting on this year's resolutions is complete and you can read more about them. Enactments are still handled once every three years live in Chicago - still known as the COL (Council on Legislation). As your delegate, I will be asked to vote Enactments in April - so I am asking for your thoughts on these to help guide my voting. [more]
