There's no meeting this Friday but know that your Dunwoody Rotary Family wishes you the best of times with family and friends this Thanksgiving Weekend. And while you're enjoying your Thanksgiving dinner, remember that 88 families linked to Kingsley Elementary are also able to celebrate thanks the generosity of the Rotary Club of Dunwoody and others who assembled food baskets. Thanks to the Augello Family - Anita, Charlie, Claudia - for organizing this effort.
Also remember that we will gather next Friday, December 2, at the Dunwoody Country Club for the annual Holiday Luncheon, this year with our friends from the Rotary Club of Brookhaven. Festivities start at 11:00 am with a social hour; don't forget to bring unwrapped gifts for Toys for Tots - another Dunwoody tradition for making the holidays special for those in need. Thanks to Jim and Janet Glass for coordinating our toy donation. If you haven't made a lunch reservation, contact Louise Barden today!
Just can’t say that enough. Yesterday and today were extremely moving and gratifying days. My daughter Claudia and I, as most of you know, started the Kingsley Harvest Basket program 6 years ago and we can’t thank you enough for your generosity and support. Your support is overwhelming. Monday, we sorted, Wednesday we filled decorated baskets and yesterday and today we distributed 88 baskets which had an average weight of 65 pounds and a value of approximately $110. This would not have been possible without your support.

We are planning now for the 2023 GRSP Leadership Weekend - scheduled for February 10-12. A signature Dunwoody Rotary event for the last 20+ years, this weekend provides many opportunities to meet some special college students from around the world - here for a one-year cultural exchange as part of a program that is unique to Georgia. And you'll meet Rotarians from many of the clubs who help us host this weekend.
At the moment, we are looking for host families willing to provide bed, breakfast and a bit of transportation between Friday night and Sunday morning. We try to keep the students in groups of two to four, but we welcome your participation even if you can only take one student - or want to volunteer with some of the many weekend activities - from a group service project to Friday night social events to Saturday night suppers, the Sunday morning Shark Tank competition, or helping with logistics during the weekend sessions.
Contact Jackie Cuthbert if you'd like to talk about the best ways for you to help with the leadership weekend. And watch for more about an upcoming planning meeting.
Last Thursday night, we enjoyed Thirsty Thursday at BAR{n} in Dunwoody Village - leading to the drawing for Whiskey Raffle #2. Ryan Stockton was the lucky winner of the Weller whiskey - displayed here by President Jennifer, We sold 100 tickets - raising $2,000 for our Charitable Fund.
There's one more opportunity to support Dunwoody's Whiskey Raffle - by buying or encouraging others to buy tickets for Whiskey Raffle #3 - for a bottle of Blanton’s Gold (shown on the right) - a higher proofed version of Blanton’s that is only available in International markets and duty-free outlets (if you are lucky). You can read more about this offering - and buy tickets at https://whiskey-raffle.com/! Tickets are $30 each - the whiskey is valued at $400. Help us reach our goal of 150 tickets sold (we're at 94 today) before the December 15 Thirsty Thursday drawing!
Put the date on your calendar now and contact Raymond Mesa if you'd like to volunteer for the Mardi Gras committee!
Here are few key reminders about upcoming events:
