Leap Into Rotary: Special Membership Social This Thursday at Marlow's!

Mark your calendar and join us at Marlow’s Tavern this Thursday starting at 5:30 pm for a very special Thirsty Thursday membership social. Equally important - bring a friend, family member or business associate who you'd like to introduce to the Rotary Club of Dunwoody! It's our part of a special Rotary Zone 34 "Leap Into Rotary" membership initiative. Events will be taking place across Georgia, Florida and throughout the Caribbean on a date near Leap Day to introduce new people to the value of Rotary!

For this event, the club will buy you and any potential member a drink. Hors d’oeuvres will also be provided by the club.

We plan to advertise this event - and to display information on our activities and projects in the community. As members, you can help share the story of having fun together as we work to make our community even better. Invite your family, friends and prospective Rotarians to join us. Let’s all Leap into Rotary this leap year.

Please contact Cathie Brumfield 404 668 6693 with any questions or if you'd like to help tell Rotary's story that evening.

Thank you!
RCD Donation Helps Launch Police K-9 Unit

Last Friday, thanks to the generosity of our members, the Rotary Club of Dunwoody presented the Dunwoody Police Foundation with a check for $11,500. The gift included funds from the Dunwoody Rotary Charitable Fund and individual donations from Rotarians. It will go toward helping defray the cost of launching a K-9 Unit in the Dunwoody Police Department.

President Cathie said, “Our members wish to salute all who have served with distinction in the police department in our city’s first decade and we wish to do our part to invest in continued excellence in policing in the Dunwoody community. Helping to launch the department’s K-9 unit is one way to demonstrate that support.”

In thanking the Rotary Club of Dunwoody for its sponsorship, Rick Holland, foundation president, said, “We are thrilled to hear about Rotary’s generous support. This donation gives the Police Foundation a running start toward its goal of raising $50,000 through its Founders’ Campaign 2020.”

Governors Ball
Join the Mardi Gras Gala on March 28

We are returning this year to the Dunwoody Country Club for a night of Mardi Gras, dancing to the sounds of the Flavor Band and Big Band, sporting Mardi Gras costumes or masks, and of course, raising money to fund our good work in the community and around the world! It will be a FUN evening you don't want to miss!

All we need to add to make it a great party is you and your friends! Don't wait to register - you can sign up right now by clicking on this link: https://www.dunwoodyrotary.org/reservation/create?... The cost is $250 per couple; most members of the club have already paid for a couple as part of their dues.

So invite your family and friends today and go online to register! If you need help with your RSVP or purchasing guest tickets, contact Michael Parks at mbparks@aol.com.

And while the Governor's Ball is on your mind, think about what you or the local businesses you support might be able to donate to our live or silent auctions. We're only six weeks from Partying for a Cause! See more at rcdgovernorsball.com

Community Assistance Center Celebrates Its New Dunwoody Office

The Community Assistance Center’s new Dunwoody branch office is having a grand opening event on Friday, February 28 at 9 a.m. with Dunwoody Mayor Lynn Deutsch. The grand opening will include a ribbon cutting and an open house. The public is welcome - and it would be great to see some Dunwoody Rotarians participating in the festivities!
