There's no meeting this Friday as many Dunwoody Rotarians head to Jekyll Island for a weekend of music, fellowship and song. Did you know that our own Ardy Bastien will be accompanying the District Choir on the piano - and that our own Ron Barden will be one of the voices in the choir?
Our On to Jekyll chair Griff Ransom promises we'll have lots of fun - at last count including 40 of us at our annual Saturday night dinner. And Jennifer Shumway has a great display ready for the House of Friendship, highlighting our 40 years as a Rotary Club.
We're back in business on Friday, March 29 with Jennifer Long from Create Dunwoody.
In case you didn't read it in the March District Newsletter, our own Mike Irvin will join the district leadership team starting next year as District Chair for the Rotary Youth Exchange program. Mike will serve a three-year term beginning July 1, 2024, responsible for promoting, managing, and overseeing both the Inbound exchange program and the Outbound scholarship program for Georgia high school students.
Mike replaces another Dunwoody Rotarian in this role - Michael Parks, who brought this program to our District and our Club in 2016. Since then, the district has awarded more than $1 million dollars’ worth of study abroad scholarships to Georgia high school students, all at no cost to the awarding Rotary clubs. We have arranged more than 85 study abroad scholarship experiences. More than 165 Rotarians in the district have become Rotary Certified Youth Volunteers through the program, and more than 300 non-Rotarian host family members have joined the family of Rotary after hosting one of our Inbound students to Georgia. For more information on the program, visit Rotary6900.org/RYE. Michael himself was a Rotary Youth Exchange student, and we thank him for all he's done to make this a vibrant program in District 6900.
Here are the golf
tournament auction items donated so far!
There will also be several consigned items TBD.

someone else might enjoy? A connection with a local restaurant of retail

Check out our updated website at www.rcdgolftournament.com. We could really use a Hole-in-One, Putting Contest and Gold Sponsor and a few golf foursomes not associated with a sponsor!
Thanks,
all!
We received word this week that the 10,000 meals packed by GRSP students at our Leadership Weekend are on their way to Ukraine. The conflict in Ukraine has caused one of the fastest forced population movements since World War II – millions of people have left the country or are internally displaced. As food production and supplies are disrupted by the conflict, many people do not have reliable access to sufficient nutritious food. The Global Hunger Index, which assesses food insecurity based on indicators that measure undernourishment and undernutrition, categorized Ukraine as having a “low” level of hunger prior to the conflict starting in 2022.
